Music Label Launch

The music industry doesn't reward talent — it rewards infrastructure. We build yours.

The Industry Has Changed

The major labels used to control everything — recording, distribution, promotion, radio play. If you wanted to reach an audience, you needed them.

That's not true anymore. Distribution is democratized. Social media can build an audience without radio. Artists can record studio-quality music on laptops.

But here's what hasn't changed: the business side is still complicated. Publishing rights, sync licensing, distribution agreements, artist contracts, royalty collection — the infrastructure that turns music into a business is still a maze that most independent artists and labels can't navigate alone.

Label Infrastructure, Not Label Deals

We're not a record label. We're not signing your artists. We're not taking a cut of your masters.

What we do is build the infrastructure that lets you operate like a real label — the kind that can sign artists, release music properly, collect all the revenue you're owed, and grow into something sustainable.

Think of us as the development firm that builds your label from the ground up. You own everything. We just make sure it's built right.

Music production setup

What We Build

Entity Formation

Proper business structure for your label — LLC, corporation, or other entities as needed. Set up correctly from day one with the right ownership and operating agreements.

Distribution Setup

Get your music on every platform that matters — Spotify, Apple Music, Amazon, YouTube Music, and beyond. But more importantly, get the right distribution deal for your goals.

Sync Licensing

Build the infrastructure to place music in TV, film, commercials, and games. Publishing administration, sync representation, and catalog organization.

Artist Contracts

Attorney-reviewed artist agreements, producer agreements, and work-for-hire contracts. Protect yourself and treat your artists fairly.

Brand Identity

Logo, visual language, website, and marketing templates that position your label as professional and legitimate from day one.

Release Strategy

How to actually launch music in 2024. Playlist strategy, social media, PR, and the coordinated approach that gives releases their best chance.

Distribution: Not All Deals Are Equal

Getting music on Spotify is easy. Getting the right distribution deal is hard.

DistroKid, TuneCore, CD Baby — these are fine for hobbyists. But if you're building a real label, you need distribution that offers better rates, faster payments, proper royalty accounting, and actual support when something goes wrong.

We help you navigate the options — from DIY aggregators to indie distributor partnerships to deals with major-owned distributors. The right choice depends on your catalog size, release frequency, and long-term goals.

Sync Licensing: The Revenue Most Labels Miss

When your song plays in a Netflix show, a commercial, or a video game, that's sync licensing. It can be the most lucrative revenue stream for a catalog — a single placement can pay $10,000–$100,000+ depending on the usage.

But sync doesn't happen by accident. Your music needs to be properly registered, cataloged, and pitched to music supervisors. You need relationships with sync agencies or the infrastructure to handle licensing requests directly.

We set up the systems so when opportunity knocks, you're ready to answer.

Building Your Label

1

Discovery & Planning

We start by understanding your vision. Are you building a label for your own music? Signing outside artists? What genres? What's your release strategy? This shapes everything we build.

2

Legal Foundation

Entity formation, trademark registration, and the foundational legal structure. Operating agreements if you have partners. Everything registered and documented properly.

3

Distribution & Publishing

Set up distribution accounts, register with performance rights organizations (ASCAP, BMI, SESAC), establish publishing administration, and configure royalty collection.

4

Contract Templates

Attorney-reviewed templates for artist deals, producer agreements, split sheets, and work-for-hire contracts. Customized for your label's structure and terms.

5

Brand & Presence

Logo design, brand guidelines, website, and social media presence. Marketing templates for releases. Everything a professional label needs to look like one.

6

Launch Support

Guidance through your first releases. Release strategy, playlist pitching approach, and the playbook for building momentum. We make sure you know how to use what we've built.

Music business

Label launch packages typically range from $35,000–$85,000.

Basic infrastructure for a single-artist label sits at the lower end. Full multi-artist label buildouts with comprehensive sync licensing setup, custom contract work, and extensive brand development go higher. We'll scope based on your specific situation.

Finance Your Label Launch

The music industry isn't known for paying artists upfront. Building a label while waiting for royalty checks is a chicken-and-egg problem.

Our GROW financing program lets you build the infrastructure now and pay when your label is generating revenue. Make minimal payments while we work, and settle when your releases are earning.

No equity. No points on your catalog. Just financing that lets you build.

Common Questions

No. We're not a record label and we don't take ownership of music. We build label infrastructure for others. You own everything — we just set it up properly.

Maybe not "full" — but you probably need more infrastructure than you think. Even solo artists benefit from proper entity structure, distribution strategy, publishing administration, and contract templates for collaborators. We can scope a package appropriate for a single-artist operation.

Our focus is business infrastructure, not creative production. We don't operate recording studios or produce music. However, we can recommend studios and producers in various markets if you need those connections.

A music lawyer handles legal documents. We handle the entire infrastructure buildout — of which legal is just one component. We work with attorneys on the contract work, but we also handle distribution setup, publishing administration, brand development, and business strategy. It's comprehensive, not just legal.

We provide release strategy guidance and the infrastructure to pitch properly, but we're not a playlist pitching service or PR firm. Those are ongoing services that many companies offer. We make sure you're set up to work with them effectively — or to handle it yourself if you prefer.

Yes. If you already have some infrastructure in place, we can audit what you have and build out what's missing. Maybe you're distributed but missing proper contracts. Maybe you have contracts but no sync setup. We'll assess where you are and scope accordingly.
